Shipping Information
It's important to us that you have a successful hatch, and we do everything in our power to pack your eggs with care so that they arrive safely and in good condition. We also check for fertilization weekly, and only ship eggs that are 1-3 days old.
We've worked hard to minimize packaging and waste while maximizing the safety of your eggs. All eggs are individually wrapped in bubble wrap and secured large side up between two recyclable egg flats, then double boxed and packed with compostable, starch-based packing peanuts.

We can fit one dozen eggs (plus any free extras) per box. Shipping is calculated for you at checkout, and each box is insured for the value of the eggs inside. While we pack your eggs with the utmost care, we have no control over what happens to them in transit.
We have only had ONE customer report shipping damage, and that was at one of the height of the pandemic in 2020--and before we started double boxing our eggs. We learned a great deal from that experience and made important changes to our packing methods.
Upon shipping, we will email you the tracking number(s) for your eggs. While shopping, you have the option to have your eggs shipped directly to your home OR labeled "hold for pickup" with your phone number on the box, so that the post office can call you to retrieve your package. Regardless of what option you select, I highly recommend that you track your package, as I cannot guarantee that the post office will call you, especially with the increased mail volume due to COVID. I'd hate for your eggs to sit in the post office any longer than they need to!
Despite our good track record, anything can happen, and we are ready for that! In the event that your eggs are damaged in the shipping process, you will be able to file a claim with USPS for the value of the damaged eggs. You can also file a claim if your package is lost. Please note that USPS does not accept claims for packages that arrive late, even if they contain perishable items such as hatching eggs. When purchasing, you accept the risk of a delayed package.
We ask that you file the claim, as USPS asks for information that only you can provide, such as photos of the damage or to see the packaging in person at your local post office. Filing a claim is fairly straightforward (see instructions below). Please get in touch if you need assistance with a claim and we will be happy to help.
Should you need to file a claim for egg damage, and choose to reorder eggs, we will prioritize your order and get eggs out to you as soon as possible.
