Assorted Olive Egger Hatching Eggs Half Dozen
We are currently taking a break from shipping eggs due to the summer heat, which can damage eggs in transit. We will resume shipping and begin taking shipped orders again in August.
If you are in the Western MA area, we are still offering hatching eggs for local pickup during this shipping break. We will be filling local orders on a first come, first served basis, and we will contact you after receiving your order to arrange pickup.
This listing is for a half dozen assorted Olive Egger hatching eggs to expand the color palette of your egg basket. You'll receive a mix of our First Generation Olive Eggers and our Gemstone Olive Eggers.
The hens from these eggs will lay a variety of colors, including olive, brown, dark olive, minty green, and even pink. Please note that because these are crosses, the color of the eggs laid by the hens you hatch will be different than the color of the hatching eggs you receive.
These chicks will hatch in a variety of colors (black, self blue, white), with a variety of combs (single, pea) and some will have beards and muffs, some not. All of these chicks are crosses, and will not breed true.
In this half dozen, you will receive a combination of the following, based on availability:
- First Generation (F1) Olive Egger: This is a Marans/Ameraucana cross, and lays 100% green eggs.
- Backcross to Marans (BC1-M): This is an F1 Olive Egger bred back to a Marans (many breeders refer to this as F2 Olive Egger). Half of the hens from this cross will lay a darker olive, and half will lay brown eggs.
- Backcross to Ameraucana (BC1-A): This is an F1 Olive Egger bred back to an Ameraucana. Hald of the hens from this cross will lay blue, and half will lay a mintier green than the F1 Olive Eggers.
- Second Generation (F2) Olive Egger: This is a cross of two F1 Olive Eggers, and can lay a variety of colors--various shades of green, brown, blue, and even pink.
Each egg will be clearly labeled so that you know the cross inside. Please note that the eggs you receive to hatch will be different colors than what the hens from those eggs will lay. In each half dozen, we will give you the widest variety of crosses available at the time we fulfill your order.
