Our Gemstone Olive Eggers are a variety of second and third generation Olive Egger crosses and backcrosses.

These crosses have a variety of genetic combinations and therefore a range of physical attributes. They may be black, sometimes with copper highlights, or lavender in color. They may have straight combs or pea combs, beard and muffs or not, and may have feathered shanks and toes.

They will lay a variety of egg colors, too! Our Gemstone hens may lay dark brown, olive green, grey, blue, teal, pink, or tan eggs.

Please note that because these birds are crosses, the eggs you receive will be different colors than what the offspring from those eggs will lay. In each half dozen, we will give you the widest variety of crosses available at the time we fulfill your order.

"I received a beautiful mix of Black Copper Marans and Olive Egger hatching eggs. All but one hatched—pretty unreal for shipped eggs! Healthy, friendly birds and now I’m impatiently waiting to see what they lay." - Leah D.

At Silver Fox Farm...

Our birds are fed 100% organic feed.
Using a clan mating system, we breed for health, temperament, and the Standard of Perfection.
Our flocks live in spacious coops and runs or tractors, and enjoy access to seasonal pasture or fresh greens.
Unlike many large scale hatcheries that cull male chicks at hatch, we love and value our roosters, and grow all of them out to maturity.
